Questions and answers

How the guide works, what it costs (nothing), and how to claim, add, fix or remove a listing.

Straight answers

Is the Sunshine Coast Business Guide free?

Yes. Listing is free, claiming is free, searching is free, and no business pays for position. Claimed listings appear first in search results, and that is the only ordering rule.

What area does the guide cover?

Every business from Noosa to Caloundra, the hinterland and Gympie: as of 8 Sep 2026, 12,107 businesses in 321 categories across 231 suburbs.

How are listings checked?

Every listed website is opened by the guide's system each day. If a business has closed or its site has gone, the page comes down that day. Trade licences are matched against the Queensland Building and Construction Commission register, and ABN status against the Australian Business Register.

Where do the phone numbers come from?

Only from a click-to-call link on the business's own website, or from the owner. If a site publishes no number, the listing shows none. Nothing is copied from another directory.

How do I claim my listing?

Open your business's page and click This is my business, or go to https://sunshinecoastbusinessguide.com.au/claim/. Confirm from an email address at your business and the page is yours: you set the description, opening hours, phone number and website, and changes go live within minutes.

My business is not listed. How do I add it?

At https://sunshinecoastbusinessguide.com.au/add/, free and without an account. Give the business name, suburb, phone number and your email; add the website if you have one. A confirmation link comes to your email and the listing goes live when you click it.

A detail on my listing is wrong. How do I fix it?

Use https://sunshinecoastbusinessguide.com.au/fix/. A request from an email address at your business's own domain is applied within minutes; any other address is checked first and we email you either way.

How do I remove my listing?

At https://sunshinecoastbusinessguide.com.au/remove/. It comes off the guide straight away and we email you to confirm. To be listed again later, use the add form.

What is the badge?

A small badge for your website footer that tells customers your listing is checked daily and links back to the guide. The code is at https://sunshinecoastbusinessguide.com.au/badge/.

What is Business of the Week?

One local business each week, in the owner's own words. Every past week stays online at https://sunshinecoastbusinessguide.com.au/features/. Owners who claim their listing join the queue, never two of the same trade back to back.

What is New this week?

The businesses that registered an ABN on the Sunshine Coast in the last 7 days, from the public register, at https://sunshinecoastbusinessguide.com.au/new/, updated weekly.

Who runs the guide?

Coastworks AI, a Buderim consultancy that builds websites, email marketing and AI automations for small businesses. It pays for the guide and runs the system behind it; nothing on a listing is influenced by that.
